In line with the implementation of NITDA’s mandate to create and develop Regulation & Compliance for the purpose of effective governance of Information Technology in Nigeria, the Regulation & Compliance department was Created and Saddled with the responsibility of effective service delivery in carrying out its functions.

Objectives

  • to initiate, develop and review Information Technology Standards, Guidelines and Frameworks for effective governance.
  • to improve standards of Information Technology products and services by creating awareness and;
  • to provide a protective platform for consumers of IT products and services in Nigeria.

Functions

  • To support the development of standards, guidelines and frameworks for IT governance in Nigeria;
  • To support the development of standards, guidelines and frameworks for IT governance in Nigeria;
  • To develop guidelines along with other relevant department for IT service and practice in Nigeria ;
  • To develop compliance framework for set standards, guidelines and regulations;
  • To mediate between consumer and IT service provider’s;
  • To create a consumer protection platform where dissatisfied consumer can lodge complaints; and
  • To create awareness on consumer right of information on IT products and services
