Mr. Oladejo Olawumi

Oladejo Olawumi is from Kwara State. He holds a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Kwara State Polytechnic, a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and a Masters in Communications Management from the Buckinghamshire New University, England. He worked in several top IT companies in the country such as Skannet ISP and underwent the prestigious Shell Petroleum Development Company Intensive Training Programme for Graduates organised by Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen, Scotland before joining NITDA in 2003 where he rose to the position of Deputy Director.
He had a brief stint with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on secondment basis as the National Programme Officer, Communication and Information, where he coordinated the development of ICT strategies in eight (8) West African countries covered by the Abuja Regional Office.
He has served as a member of the secretariat of several strategic committees such as the:
- National Information Technology Policy Review Committee, 2008
- Sub-Committee on Development of a Blueprint for a National Database System
- eCommerce and Electronics Transaction Bill Drafting Committee.
He headed the Project Management Unit of the Agency where he is deployed his skills in Project Management to ensure best practice is maintained in delivering the agency’s mandate of IT development in the country.
He is presently the Director leading the Department of Standards, Guidelines and Frameworks in delivering NITDA’s mandate of Development of IT framework, guidelines and standards as contained in section 6 (a-n) of the NITDA Act 2007
