Engr. Salisu Kaka, PhD

Engr Salisu Kaka holds a PhD in Blockchain Technology from Walden University Minneapolis, USA. He is the pioneer director of the e-Government and Digital Economy Development at NITDA. Engr Salisu is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in engineering and IT. He is a motivated professional with decision-making proficiency and extensive experience in IT/ICT project management and governance of the IT environment. He has strong biases toward developing public IT Project design, IT Policy, and implementation.
With his rich public and private sector experience, Salisu is well-equipped with managerial and leadership skills, especially in the public space within the IT sector. As a person who thrives in high-pressure and fast-paced situations, he always seeks positive results by applying knowledge, skills, and capabilities. His expertise in resource management and an aptitude for optimizing performance and motivating colleagues are top-notch. In any position he occupied, he could visualize success and identify innovative and effective strategies for achieving organizational objectives.
Born in the ancient city of Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State, He had his primary and secondary education in Katsina State. He attended Bayero University Kano (BUK) for his first and second degrees in Engineering. He started his professional career with Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina State in 1998. In 2000, he joined the service of NITEL as Digital Earth Station Satellite Transmission Engineer in the Kaduna International Gateway and worked for a decade. In 2009, he moved to NITDA as Principal Scientific Officer in the Department of Technical Services (DTS). Since joining the service of NITDA, Salisu has worked in the Information Technology Infrastructure Solution (ITIS) department, e-Government Development and Regulation (eGDR) department and is currently the Director of the Digital Economic Department (DED).
Engr. Salisu has artfully balanced workplace objectives and productive relationships with inspiring strategies and insightful suggestions to achieve a competitive business edge. His leadership, management, and planning strengths and style have enabled his professional growth. He is a registered member of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the Computer Professional Registration Council (CPN). Happily married with children.
