Bar. Lazarus Ikoti

Bar. Lazarus Ikoti holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Maiduguri in 1987.He was called to bar in 1988.He worked as a private practitioner for several years before joining The Federal Government as an Assistant Chief State Counsel in 2005.He was one time Legal Adviser of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), while in the Lottery Commission he was very instrumental to the development of lottery regulations.

Mr Ikoti joined NITDA in 2009 as an Assistant Director; he was subsequently promoted to the rank of Deputy Director which is his present position. In 2014 he became the Acting Director in charge of the Standard Guidelines and Regulations Department, he manages the task of developing the framework for IT governance, policy and developing standards for Information Technology in Nigeria, he also coordinates the development of guidelines for IT services and practices in Nigeria, undertakes IT product type-approvals and certifications, monitor implementation of regulatory policies, guidelines and standards.  Presently he is  the National Coordinator ONC .

As Mr Lazarus continues to play a key role in the Agency, it is his aim to re position the Office of Nigerian Content on Information and Communication Technology (ONC)  en route for the actualization of its vision as a prime catalyst for an IT driven and knowledge based economy.
