Overview

DT-TWG is a digital governance structure that is critical to the implementation of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) for digital Nigeria. The DT-TWG will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS), National e-Government Master Plan (NeGMP) and any digital transformation-related activities in the public sector at the Federal level. They are to ensure that all IT projects are designed and implemented in accordance with the provision of the Nigerian Government Enterprise Architecture (NGEA) and the Nigeria e-Government Inter-operability Framework (NeGIF).

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), had on Thursday 27th August, 2020 inaugurated the chairmen of DT-TWGs across the first phase of the FPIs (See attached list) and also launched the NGEA portal.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DT-TWGs

Specifically, DT-TWGs is established with the following responsibilities of:

1.   Playing the role of advocates for the digital economy and digital transformation-related activities;

2.   Advising their Management on adoption and utilization of digital technologies for business transformation and effective digital service delivery;

3.   Guiding automation and digitization of Government business processes;

4.   Providing support and guidance for initiation and implementation of IT projects;

5.   Ensuring proper alignment of IT projects/programme with the business of governance;

6.   Proposing and guiding the implementation of initiatives to enhance Government Digital Services (GDS);

7.   Ensuring GDS and IT projects implementation is in compliance with the provisions of  National Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS), Nigeria e-Government Master Plan, IT Projects Clearance Policy and Guidelines, Nigeria e-Government Interoperability Framework (Ne-GIF), Nigeria Government Enterprise Architecture (NGEA), Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other National ICT/e-Government documents;

8.   Work in collaboration with NITDA to develop ICT plan and Enterprise Architecture (EA) including solution architecture for IT deployment for the organization;

9.   Perform any other functions that may be assigned by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and in line with the provision of NITDA Act, 2007.​
