Deployment Of IT Will Boost The Nation’s GDP: NITDA Boss

To promote Digital marketing in the country, the Management of AKG Global Multiservice Company LTD has called on the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Corporate to seek collaboration in area of capacity building, translating into a knowledge-based economy.

The call was made by the Managing Director, Mrs Aisha Kabir Gaya when she paid a courtesy call on the Agency. She stated that the company provides a broad range of services and solutions in digital marketing, training and consultancy to businesses of all sizes and in all sectors worldwide.

Mr Jibril Bawa Marketing Manager, of the company while corroborating his boss, stated that “digital marketing will provide a platform for wealth creation and serve as an alternative source to oil revenue. E-commerce will aid the smooth exchange of good and services in the country, and collaborating with the regulatory Agency of the sector will aid in the achievement of ICT goals and objectives, promote wealth creation and diversification from an oil dependent to a knowledge-based economy”.

AKG solicited for the use of NITDA’s Digital Capacity Building Centers, to enable the deployment of IT across the country.

Director General of NITDA Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami while expressing his delight by the visit, stated that the Agency will review the proposal brought forward with a view to identifying areas in need of collaboration and intervention to enable the swift deployment of IT in the country. He also informed the delegation that the Agency has launched and transferred an e-Agric portal to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to enable a swift growth in the agricultural sector.

“The agency as an IT regulatory body is having a paradigm shift to aid the growth and development of IT that will serve as a platform for wealth creation and serve as an alternative revenue flow for the country”. he said.

Dr Agu Collins Agu Director Information Technology Infrastructure Solutions (ITIS) at NITDA said that the Agency has forged a successful partnership with the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) skill acquisition entrepreneurship Development (SAED), channeled towards capacity building and wealth creation
