The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) entered into a mutual agreement by signing a Letter of Intent on academic collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) as a first step to an active partnership to conduct programmes for mutual benefit on academic collaboration for NITDA’s scholarship scheme.
The Director General NITDA, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, while welcoming the University delegation expressed optimism towards this collaboration, hoping that the step taken will be of benefit to Nigerians and Nigeria.
Pantami noted that UTHM has so many areas Courses on ICT and ICT Research Centres which NITDA could leverage on with its scholarship Scheme, adding that NITDA is developing capacity in ICT and hope for mutual benefit on academic collaborations through staff and student exchanges, joint training of Staff and researchers.
Looking at the school’s flexible payment system and Tuition fees, NITDA could leverage on to accommodate more scholars to undergo various academic training and research in the institution, this he said came at the time when the Agency is looking for alternative means for scholars due to depreciation in value of Naira.
Prof. Yusri Yusof the Director International Office earlier in his remark said they were at the Agency to seek for partnership with NITDA in terms of Academics and Researches for both NITDA staff and Scholars. He said, they currently have 91 Nigerian students and 64 alumni and seeks for more areas of collaboration between the two parties for mutual benefit.
With the Agency’s interest in the School, Yusof said that the Vice Chancellor and the school management will come up with a special Tuition fee payment policy for NITDA’s Scholars soon.
