Wide Area Network

The campus wide area network was designed to provide wireless hotspot connectivity across University Campuses. The architecture was carefully designed for scalability and ease of integration with available LAN within the campus. This is to provide reliable and fast internet services to the campuses. The project started in 2012 with deployment in Four (4)pilot Universities, presently there are Twelve (12) of these projects.

Objectives

Establishment of a fully functional campus wireless network in Nigerian Universities with a capacity to support 100,000 concurrent users at a time.

Outcomes

  • An academic community with a robust wireless digital access to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Sharp improvement on digital access to online academic resources and learning
